Hello. I am Seung-yeon Lee, co-CEO of MEDI.SOLA.

From my twenties, for about twenty years, I ate irregularly — and lived with illness nobody could name, with pain, and with serious nutritional imbalance. There were stretches when even eating was difficult.

In the spring of 2016 I met Hyung-mi Kim, now head of the MEDI.SOLA research institute and formerly head of the nutrition team at Severance Hospital, and we began working through my diet together. While keeping a daily food diary and learning why nutrition matters, I travelled to Spain and found my condition changing on food alone.

That experience brought clinicians, clinical nutritionists and food specialists together around two questions.

“Why is the Mediterranean diet the one the world points to for health and longevity?” “Then what should the nutritional standard be for a diet designed for Koreans?”

MEDI.SOLA started from those questions. We set out to make not a single nutrient or a single food, but a meal that understands one person's life and state of health. Our goal is the food care each health journey needs, through tailored meal plans and meals chosen by the individual. Today MEDI.SOLA is building a new standard for food and nutrition with clinicians, clinical nutritionists, food specialists and technologists — and with co-CEO Don-koo Lee, who leads the company on a grounding in the life sciences.

It took me a long time to find my way back to nutritional balance. So that you do not have to repeat that time, MEDI.SOLA will offer meals carrying the nutrition a healthy life needs.
